The mini-repeater is housed in a compact, waterproof box and can be sited outdoors in order to allow easy access and recovery. It is particularly for increasing the range from telephone and other low power transmitters. These send their signal to the MR1 and the signal is then boosted over a long range to a suitable monitoring position. Encrypted signals can also be processed. The mini-repeater has internal batteries for ease of operation. Power consumption is extremely low and it can be left unattended for up to 40 days in standby mode.
