These are high power telephone transmitters parasitically energised from the telephone line. The sealed construction makes them weatherproof and suitable for outdoor use. They transmit only when the telephone is in use and once installed, require no further attention. Parallel connection to the telephone line restores charge to the internal battery whenever the telephone is not in use. They are suitable for monitoring direct telephone lines and certain private exchange systems.
